About:
Tricktapes.com is a site designed to exhibit the amazing talent of skiers considered to be amateurs. Just watch any big slopestyle competition (i.e. US Open, Aspen Open, Big Bear etc…) and you will notice that regular "no name" skiers push the envelope as hard as all the big names in the newschool world. Not only are these amazing skiers prevalent all across the world, but startup film companies flock to these groups of skiers due to their obvious talent.
With so many crews of excellent park skiers, how does one go about picking which amateur movie to buy in the fall? I have no clue. They are all too sick to separate from one another. Tricktapes.com makes it easy for people to watch a majority of these crews in action on one website for more than ½ the price of an hour long ski movie, with unlimited viewing year round!
Tricktapes are meant to mimic the structure of mixtapes in the hip-hop world; meaning that underground groups come together, with lower budgets, and yet still produce great quality media. In addition to giving underground skiers, cameramen, and editors an outlet to showoff their skills and generate recognition, it also expands into more fields of creativity. For all those people who have always had great movie titles, cover ideas, and different innovate film formats… The opportunity is here. Tricktapes is really the first time groups are able to demonstrate their creativity on a national scale. Differing from any existing newschool ski website, uploads will have to maintain a certain standard of quality and skill in order to be a part of the site. This is to uphold promises of high quality ski videos to subscribers and to sponsors.
